Quick answer: On gold, 1 pip = a $0.10 price move and 1 point = $0.01 (so 1 pip = 10 points). At 0.01 lots a pip ≈ $0.10; at 1.00 lot a pip ≈ $10.

Pip vs point on gold — the trap that confuses everyone

Forex pairs have a standard pip definition; gold doesn't quite. Most brokers treat a pip on XAUUSD as a $0.10 move and a point as $0.01. So when someone says their gold EA has a "500 point stop", that's a $5.00 move — the same as 50 pips. Always check which unit your platform or robot uses before comparing numbers.
